Gary A. Richtmyre, 78, of West Bend WI, passed away February 22, 2025, at Froedtert Hospital in West Bend Wi. He was surrounded by family. He was born on October 21, 1946, to Daniel and Grace Richtmyre (Thuriot) in Racine, WI. Gary graduated from Juneau High School in Milwaukee, WI in 1964 and held a bachelor's degree from the San Francisco University. He enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in 1966 and retired honorably at the rank of Command Sergeant Major in 1996 after 30 years of service. He also was graduated with honors from the United States Army Sergeant's Major Academy in 1989.

He married his high school sweetheart Mary Richtmyre (Andres) on November 5, 1966 and they had 2 children, Rob Richtmyre and Ronda Richtmyre (Bauer). He worked at the Motor Transport Company in Milwaukee, Wi from 1966 to 1975, then the West Bend Mutual Insurance Company from 1976 until 2001, and finally was employed at various other businesses until his retirement in 2018. He was an avid golfer, followed NASCAR, enjoyed watching most any sporting events, and kept up with the many activities of his five grandchildren. He was also active in many veteran group activities to include the alumni groups of his former Army Reserve units.

Gary is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Ronda (married to Mark Bauer), son Robert (married to Terri Richtmyre (Strack), five grandchildren: Daniel Richtmyre (married to Yaritza Abrego), Rose Richtmyre (married to Ethan Gardner), Mitchell Richtmyre, Elisabeth Albert (Bauer) (married to Carson Albert) and Eric Bauer; and his sister Diane Hollowell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Grace.
