On Wednesday, September 9th, 2015 the Lord called home his servant Gary Fred Milligan. Gary was surrounded by a great number of his family including his wife Jeanine, his children, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his Cousin Lynn Kiser at Froedert Hospital when he passed on. Gary was born on May 23rd, 1935 to Lyle Fred and Hilda Mae (Barrows) Milligan in Kenosha, WI. He attended Mary D Bradford High School in Kenosha. He married Jeanine Wickstrom on September 10th 1955, at St. Mary's Church in Kenosha. The family moved to West Bend, WI in 1969. Gary worked at American Motors as a Foreman and setup man. He also was a Plant Superintendent at Eaton, Yale & Towne in Gladstone, MI. Additionally, he worked at Evinrude in Milwaukee, WI as a Foreman. He also worked at Seamans as a Plant Superintendent in Milwaukee, WI. He and Jeanine then purchased their own business in 1994, Gundrilling of Wisconsin, Inc. in West Bend, WI and he operated it for 16 years until he retired in 2010.
Gary is survived by his wife Jeanine; his 4 children: Kevin Milligan, Wendy (Robert) Leon, Brian (Connie) Milligan, and Mary (David) Ellis; 15 Grandchildren and their Spouses: Marie Jaycox, Jason (Bethany) Milligan, Steven Abel, Erin (Eric) Kuechler, David (Melanie) Abel, Amanda Massingale, Kristina Milligan, Mitchell (Kristi) Milligan, Timothy Milligan, Ian Massingale, Sara (Fiancé Cody) Milligan, John Milligan, Rachel Milligan, Nathaniel Massingale, and Daniel Massingale. Gary is further survived by 13 great-grandchildren; his Brothers Greg (Sandy) Milligan, Scott (Delores) Milligan, and Rory (Jennifer) Milligan; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents: Lyle and Hilda; Jeanine's Parents: Andrew and Loraine and 2 Infant Brothers.
The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to The Very Reverend Jeffery Haines, Rector and Pastor of The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukee, and dear friend of the family for praying with them in Gary's final moments. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the kind and compassionate staff of the Froedtert Surgical ICU department for the extraordinary care of Gary this past week as well as the West Bend Police Department and West Bend Fire and Rescue.
A Visitation will be held at Phillip Funeral Home (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend, WI) on Tuesday, September 15th from 5PM until 7PM with a Prayer Vigil at 7PM to follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Parish (1025 S 7th Ave, West Bend) on Wednesday, September 16th at 11AM. Continued visitation will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Parish on Wednesday, September 16th from 10AM to 11AM. Entombment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park.
