Frederick "Fritz" E. Melius, age 90, passed away peacefully, at home, on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. He was born on November 25, 1926 in the town of Polk to Christian and Bertha (nee Kurtz) Melius. Fritz went to a one-room-schoolhouse, Polk Dairy School, in Jackson, WI. He enjoyed playing baseball in the Rock River League in his younger years. On May 31, 1958 he married Eva (nee Anderson) in a little Baptist church in Ackerville, WI. He was a faithful member of Falls Baptist Church of Menomonee Falls, WI, faithfully read his Bible every day and trusted in what the Lord had planned. He farmed his entire life and when most people retire, Fritz decided to be a Security Guard at the West Bend Company for the next 20 years! In the later years, his wife, "Lin", was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and he lovingly cared and tried to meet her every need.
Fritz is survived by his wife, Eva "Lin"; children Allan (Ruth), Joy (Ken) Landers, Kyeong (Don) Beebe; grandchildren Andrew (Angela), Tanya (Ben) Maule, Brad, Linnea, Troy (Jena) Landers, Tim Landers, Lauren (Joel) Ang, Brandon Fischer; great-granddaughter Ree Maule; brother Arthur Melius; brother-in-law Birger Anderson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Fritz is preceded in death by his parents, son Stephen Melius, siblings Edward (Betsy), Harry (Doris), Marion (Howard) Kuhupt, Florence (Louie) Foerster; sister-in-law Betsy Melius; son-in-law James Fischer.
A Funeral Service will be Friday, June 9, 2017 at 6:00PM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095) with Pastor Dr. Wayne VanGelderen presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4:00PM until the time of service (6:00PM). Interment will be at 10:30AM on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Washington County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Alzheimer's Association (620 S 76th Street, Suite 160 Milwaukee, WI 53214-1599) and/or Falls Baptist Mission Fund (N69W12703 W Appleton Ave, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051).
