Francis "Frank" Dominic Mayer, age 83, of the Town of Farmington, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024, in West Bend. He was born on May 3, 1941, in Port Washington, WI to Elmer and Dolores (nee Karrels) Mayer.
Frank was a devoted husband, and a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was an exceptional woodworker and greatly enjoyed sharing his knowledge with family and friends. Over the years, he created many handmade items in his workshop. He also enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, traveling, country music, and was an avid Packer and Brewer fan. Frank really enjoyed his retirement.
Throughout his life Frank had several jobs before he started his carpenter contracting business. Frank was active in local public service serving as a Supervisor for the Town of Farmington. He also served as the Building Inspector in many surrounding municipalities, as well as the Zoning Administrator for the Town of Trenton.
Frank is survived by his children, David (Laura), Trisha (Dave) Schoofs, John (Susan); grandchildren, Tom (Cory) Schoofs, Emily (Charlie) Fink, Katelyn and Nathan Mayer; great-grandchildren Patrick and Grayson Schoofs, and Maya Fink, sisters Teri (Greg) Kirst, Marion (Gary) Wendorff, and brother Ray (Carol) Mayer, sister-in-law Joan Neu. Frank is survived by other nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Dolores, of 57 years, his parents, brother Gene Mayer, his parents in law Walter and Aurelia Neu and his brother-in-law Joseph Neu.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church (1375 Covered Bridge Rd. Cedarburg, WI 53012) with Fr. Patrick Burns presiding. Visitation will be at church on Thursday, May 16

from 12:00 pm until 1:45 pm. Interment at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery immediately following Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Francis Borgia Church Endowment Fund.
Frank will be remembered by many with this familiar saying "What will be, will be…"
