Faith Rose Middendorf (nee Senglaub), 89, entered into eternal peace on Friday, February 20, 2015, at the Kathy Hospice in the Town of Polk. She was born on December 5, 1925, in Milwaukee, WI, to Oswald and Marie (nee Rodenkirch) Senglaub.
She married Robert Charles Schmid on October 16, 1948, at St. John de Nepomuc in Milwaukee. They had five children: Robert, Raymond, Marie, Gerard and Paul. Her husband Robert died on November 16, 1966. Faith married Fred Middendorf on June 26, 1976, at Cardinal Stritch College Chapel, Fox Point, WI.
She was an English and reading teacher for 25 years, first at Valders High School and then at the New Holstein Middle School. Faith and Fred enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Mexico, Austria, Germany and Italy.
Faith is survived by her husband, Fred; children Robert (Donna) of La Porte, CO, Raymond of Kremmling, CO, Marie Joers of West Bend, Gerard of West Bend, and Paul (Edith) of Simi Valley, CA; grandchildren Scott (Michelle), Michael, Jamie, Leanne, Kris, Evelyn, and Anna; and great-grandchildren Hannah, Sophia and Collin. She is further survived by her sister, Sister Mary Senglaub; sisters-in-law Doris Senglaub, Rose Braun, Dorothy (John) Giuliani, Laverne Brondino, Evelyn Schmid and Diane Schmid; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Faith is preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert and brothers Joseph and Michael; sisters-in-law Marian Wolfgram, Audrey (Clayton) Miller and Dolores (George) Wellman; brothers-in-law Ken Braun, Henry (Jean) Schmid, Eugene (Agnes) Schmid, Anthony Brondino and James Schmid.
Fr. Edwin Kornath will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial for Faith on Saturday, February 28, at 11 AM at St. Michael Parish, 8883 Forest View Road, Kewaskum. A visitation will be held at Phillip Funeral Home in West Bend on Friday, February 27, from 4 PM until the 7:30 Rosary. The Milwaukee Liederkranz, a German Choir from Milwaukee, will sing three songs at 7:15 PM. In lieu of flowers Mass intentions would be appreciated by the family.
