Obituary

Eldora L. Korbar (nee Wetzel), age 86, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Pavilion in Slinger, WI. She was born on June 8, 1928 in Kiel, WI to Fredrick and Hattie (nee Ladwig) Wetzel. Eldora was a 1946 graduate of Kiel High School. Following high school she worked in the office at HG Weber & Co. making $.35 an hour, until moving to Milwaukee at the age of 22. As a young lady in Milwaukee she joined a Drill Team that performed in parades around the country. She always had a love for parades and marching bands. Throughout the years she worked as an office worker, waitress, and cashier at the Riverside Theater. It was during her time at the Riverside Theater that she met and fell in love with Stanley "Stash" Korbar, who was the handsome police officer. She used to say "there's just something about a man in a uniform". They were married in Milwaukee on May 24, 1975. She eventually worked and retired from Rexnord in the International Division and even spent a few years at the First Wisconsin Bank before finally retiring.

Eldora cherished her grandchildren Matthew and Rachel. They were the light of her life. She loved watching Matt race motocross, play soccer and football, and go for rides together on the city bus to have lunch at McDonalds. With Rachel she enjoyed her singing and dancing, watching her learn to ride a bike and their special time together every day after school. Rachel always considered Grandma her best friend and confidant. Eldora expressed it the best when she wrote "I can never put into words the love I have for you kids or the pleasure you have given me. God has blessed me and I love being a grandmother".

Eldora is survived by her daughter Annette Kania (nee Brown); son-in-law Russell Kania; grandchildren Matthew and Rachel Kania; step-children Larry (Marilyn) Korbar and Carole (Jim) Kosterman; sister Lucille Severt and special friend Mary Mientki. She is further survived by nieces; nephew; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents; husband Stanley Korbar; brother Lester Wetzel; sisters Norma Stott and Viola Allen; step-children Christine Halaska and Mark Korbar.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1400 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend, WI) on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 7:00pm.
