Obituary
Elayne M. Hefter "Ma" (nee Collett), age 87, of Allenton, passed peacefully on June 29, 2014. Born in Harshaw, WI on February 23, 1927, to Clyde and Anna (nee Hopan) Collett. She was raised in Hartford, and graduated from Hartford High School in 1945. Elayne married Joseph F. Hefter on June 10, 1947.
Elayne was a wonderful wife, mother, homemaker and an asset to the family run farm. When there was time, she and Joe like to travel, snowmobile and entertain. They were avid members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Assn. until Joes' death in 1988. In early years, Elayne belonged to the Christian Mothers and also waitressed at the Hill Restaurant in Slinger. Her travels took her on cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii and Jamaica. Trips to local casinos, Las Vegas and winters in Florida were also in her itinerary. Elayne will be remembered for her love of family, friends and life in general. She was hard working, witty, generous and just one cool tough old bird.
Elayne is survived by her children Wayne (Pat Watson) Hefter, Danny (Chris) Hefter and Karen (friend Timm Mayhew) Rogne; grandchildren Stefanie (Kurt) Kowaleski and Matt Renner; step grandchildren Jenny Menzynski and Ryan (Randi) Stanwood; great-grandchildren Ella and Livia Kowaleski; step great-grandchildren Peyton and Parker Menzynski; sisters Carol (Paul) Wolff and Peggy Anderson; son-in-law Phil Rogne's daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, son Steven Hefter, granddaughter Michelle Hefter, sisters Dorothy (Joe) Faust, Betty (Jerry) Schickert and Shirley (Gene) Simpson, brother-in-law Doyle Anderson, sister-in-law Florence Hefter and son-in-law Phil Rogne.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014, at Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend), at 7PM. Visitation will take place from 4PM until the time of the Service. Inurnment will take place on Wednesday, July 9 at 9am at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Nenno.
