Elaine Jeanette Holmes (nee Fischer), age 97, of West Bend, was called by her Savior to join Him in eternity on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Cedar Community. She was born on March 31, 1918 in Mayville, WI to Walter and Alvina (nee Lindemann) Fischer. Elaine was baptized into God's family. She attended grade school in Mayville and went on to graduate from Mayville High School. Elaine married Frank M. Holmes on June 20, 1942. Together they raised 4 children of whom live in the communities of Mayville, Iron Ridge, Cedarburg and Gurnee, IL. Elaine was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was very active in the Lutheran churches wherever she lived, singing in the choir, working on evangelism initiatives, fund-raising events and volunteering for various committees. She was involved in various committees at her children's schools and was an accomplished artist and musician.

Elaine is survived by her children Rodney (Sandra) Holmes, Linda Holmes, Martha (John) Galvin and Donna Holmes; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings Wally, Mary Ann and Marcella. She is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, grandchild Esther, siblings Rueben, Elroy and Adeline.

A Funeral Service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church (1044 S. Silverbrook Dr, West Bend) on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11:00am. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00am. Interment will follow at 2:00pm at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.
