Earl J. Bauer, Sr., age 95, of West Bend, passed away April 23, 2018 at Kathy Hospice. He was born May 21, 1922, in Milwaukee, the only child of George and Leila (nee Russbach) Bauer.
After leaving the Navy, where he specialized in aerial photography, Earl moved his young family to Dallas, Texas. Once there he built Bauer Audio Video, a successful national business, from the humble beginnings of a camera counter in a department store. Always one to think big, Earl loved adventure and travel. Whether he was piloting his plane, driving across the country in his motor home, or traveling abroad, Earl lived life to the fullest.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Ann Bauer Hale, son, Earl Bauer, II "Chip", and 3 grandchildren, Zachary Jay Hale (Sarah), Tracy Allison Hale, and William Earl Bauer. He is further survived by devoted extended family and friends, including, Gary and Pam Herdrich, Mark and Lori Chromey, David Doyle, Dennis and Sandy Deutsch, Jim and Mary (nee Deutsch) Smith, Brad and Mary Jo Deutsch, Bob and Cara Herdrich, John and Mary Herdrich, Dick and Mary Simonsen, Scott and Lisa Johnson, Damien (Betsy) Doyle, Quinn (Danielle) Doyle, Ben (Leah) Herdrich, Nic (Molly) Herdrich, Kylie Herdrich, Mara Herdrich, Brienna Herdrich, Ryan Herdrich, Nathan Peplinski, Drew Simonsen, David (Maria) Simonsen, Maddi, Mitch and Melia Johnson, as well as all of his Cedar Ridge friends, especially the Wood Shop and Happy Hour gang.
He is predeceased by his parents and his beloved wife, Rita "Snookie" Bauer (nee Deutsch) and Paula Doyle.
