Douglas "Doug" William Stott, age 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at his home in West Bend with family by his side. He was born on October 13, 1945 in Milwaukee, WI to Donald and Marcella (nee Frey) Stott. Doug enjoyed the outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisherman.…
Doug attended Rufus King High School, Milwaukee before bravely serving his country as a paratrooper in the 82 nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. A dedicated and courageous Army veteran, Doug carried the spirit of service with honor and strength with him throughout his life.
Doug worked for many years at OMC Evinrude Motors while living in Jackson WI, before retiring to Tomahawk WI fulfilling a lifelong dream, where he and Diane found peace and joy surrounded by woods and water. In 2023 we moved back to the area to be closer to family.
Doug is survived by his wife of 57 years, Diane (Strauss) Stott; children, Daryl Stott, Donald Stott, Dawn Lisko, Darlene Perkes; his grandchildren, Jesse Stott (Kelsey), Kody Lisko (Toni), Sierra, Avery, Camryn, Brooklyn; great-grandson Remy; sister Gail Schlenzig, brother Bruce Stott, sister-in-law Joyce Stott. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Marcella Stott, sister Donna Stromski, brother Peter Stott and brother-in-law Donald Strauss.
Doug will be remembered for his warm heart, quick wit, humor, integrity, and quiet strength that touched everyone he met.
There will be no formal service. In Doug's honor and in lieu of flowers, the family asks that you pay it forward-help someone in need and take a moment to thank a veteran for their service.
