Dorothy L. Rudolf (nee Taylor) "Dotti", age 76, of West Bend passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 23, 2015. Dotti went to her eternal home in the arms of the Lord. She was born on June 6, 1939 in Milwaukee to Daniel and Clara (nee Manz) Taylor. She graduated from Custer High School in 1957 and went on to attend nursing school for one year, but left to have heart surgery. On June 20, 1959 she married the love of her life, Herb.
Dotti devoted her life to her family as a stay at home mom. She proudly co-founded the Healing and Prison Ministry at St. John's Lutheran Church in West Bend, where she was a member for nearly 50 years. Dotti was also a past member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and received the President's award. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, gardening and had her own antique business, The Bear Cupboard. Dotti loved decorating and attending her grandchildren's activities. In their free time, Dotti and Herb enjoyed taking long rides together in their Mustang Convertible.
Dotti is survived by her husband of 56 years, Herbert; children Robin (Randall) Abel, Wendy (John) Spartz, Lisa (David) Kaehny, Daniel (Cheryl) Rudolf, Pete (Peggy) Rudolf all of West Bend; grandchildren Mitchell and Arianna Abel, Aly and Drew Spartz, Erin (Steven) Ruplinger, Daniel, Megan and Natalie Kaehny, Trisha (Jay) Valind, Katelyn (Jake) Larson, Lexi (Nate) Jensen, Macki and Christian Rudolf, Jake and Alex Rudolf; great-grandchildren; Morgan and Leah Ruplinger; brothers Denny (Mary) and Terry Taylor and sisters-in-law Elisabeth Zaupa and Edith (Bob) Hahn. Further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents; sisters-in-law Jean and Kathe Taylor; mother-in-law Erna Rudolf and father-in-law Joseph Rudolf; brother-in-law Al Zaupa and nephew John Zaupa.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church (809 S. 6th Ave. West Bend, WI 53095) on Sunday, October 4th at 3:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Dorth presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park at 9:00 AM on Monday October 5th.
