Dorothy was raised in Milwaukee graduating from Rufus King High School Class of 1943. As a young woman she worked as a typist. She then excelled at her career as wife and mother, which gave her great pride.

She enjoyed retirement with Arno on Little Cedar Lake with her family and friends. Mom was able to live happily in her home cooking and baking for the family while also feeding and watching the wildlife. Dorothy was a wife, mother and grandmother beyond measure. We her children were blessed with having the world's greatest mother. Mom always put her husband and children before all else.

Surviving Dorothy are her children Michael (Carol) of Amherst, Susan Banse of Germantown, Judith (Michael) Majewski of Oconomowoc and Robert (JoAnne) of Poinciana, FL, her grandchildren Julie (Dan) de Snoo, Holly (Todd) Roskopf, Jessica (Michael) Hammond, John Hinrichs (fiancé Andrea), Amanda (Melanee) Meegan, Daniel (Kaela) Hinrichs and Melissa and Katherine Majewski along with 7 great grandsons – Brogan, Evan, Garrison, Jase, Joshua, Francis and Theodore.
