Doris M. Tennies (nee Guerndt), age 93, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017. She was born on February 19, 1924 to Edward and Olive (nee Kraemer) Guerndt and graduated from Slinger High School. She was the retired owner of Tennies Tap. Doris loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Joanne (Roger) Sanford, Robert (Binh) Tennies, Alan (Patricia) Tennies, Jean (special friend Mike Tracy) Severson; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Bernice (August) Parchim; sisters-in-law Audrey Guerndt and Rita (Leroy) Kannenberg; brother-in-law Ernest Thorn. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry Jr.; siblings, Raymond (Grace), Mary Jane and Edward Guerndt, Patricia Thorn; and sister-in-law Jeanette (William) Mack. Also preceded in death by her son-in-law Roger Severson.
Private Services were held.
