Doris E. Parchim (nee Herther) passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the age of 84 years. She was born on January 9, 1930 to William and Alma (nee Wenzel) Herther. Doris married John Parchim, Sr. on August 27, 1949 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg. They were united in marriage for 61 years until he preceded her in death on March 11, 2011.

In her free time, Doris enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and playing a good hand of Rummy.

Doris was a member of both Holy Angels Catholic Church and the VFW Post #7037 Ladie's Auxiliary in Waubeka.

Doris is survived by her children Sharon Gahan, Mary (Harold) Zarling, John Jr. (Cheryl), Gary (Kate), Ronald (Dorothy), Roger (Jody), Michael (Pamela), and Gregory (Barbara); 21 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers Donald Herther and Reuben (Leola) Herther, brother-in-law August (Bernice) Parchim, sisters-in-law Delores Mueller and Rosemary Parchim, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. Doris is preceded in death by her husband John Parchim, Sr., parents William and Alma Herther, brothers Robert (Mabel) Herther and Wilbert Herther, sister Helen (Verlin) Rusch, brother-in-law Edmund Parchim, and sisters-in-law Frances (Arthur) Scherer and Evelyn Herther.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. 8th Ave. in West Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday. Interment will follow mass at Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery.
