Doris J. Espen (nee Pabian) age 88 years of West Bend, died on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend. Doris was born on June 1, 1928 in Manitowoc to the late Reinhardt and Ida (nee Schuette) Pabian.

After graduating from high school in Manitowoc, she worked at Mirro Aluminum Company until the time of her marriage. On January 22, 1949, Doris married Robert W. Espen at First Reformed Church in Manitowoc. Robert was an executive with Modern Equipment Company of Port Washington and past president of Miether Bearing Products in Odessa, Texas. He passed away in 2004.

Over the years, Doris was a member of the Odessa, TX and the West Bend Country Clubs. She lived in Manitowoc, WI, Odessa and Horseshoe Bay, TX.

Doris was a very special person who loved reading and traveling. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her 3 sons; David (Antonette) of Flower Mound, Texas, Daniel of Kewaskum, WI and Nathan of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Raymond Pabian of Manitowoc and her grandson Andrew Espen.

A Memorial Service for Doris will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Phillip Funeral Home (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend) with Pastor John Bass officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, October 23rd from
1:00 pm until time of service. Inurnment will be at Washington County Memorial Park.
