Doreen Zuleger (1953-2025)
Doreen Helen Zuleger, age 71, passed away on January 18, 2025, just one day shy of her birthday, after another courageous battle with cancer. Known for her selflessness and eagerness to help others as well as her love of the Brewers, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Doreen was born in Milwaukee, WI on January 19, 1953 to Clarence and Josephine (nee Popelier) Knueppel. After reconnecting with the love of her life, John, in 1978 at Jake's Bar on Hampton, they married in 1984, had two children, Brian and Brenda, and moved to West Bend, WI.
Doreen enjoyed reading, baking, listening to music, watching the Brewers, and spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John; sister, Janet McCulloch; and both parents, Clarence and Josephine. She is survived by her two children, Brian (Shelby) Zuleger and Brenda (Barry) Bertram; grandson, John August Bertram; sisters, Carol Biersach and JoAnn Knueppel-Christianson; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to Lawlis Hospice and Sally Bertram, as well as all the doctors and nurses who guided her on this tough journey.
A celebration of life will be held privately with close family.
