Donald Anthony Smetana, age 85, met with eternal life on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at New Perspective Senior Living in West Bend. He was born on April 18, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI to Anthony and Ann (nee Kozic) Smetana.
Donald was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his retirement years with his blue Tuffy boat in Sugar Camp with his wife Dorothy. He was a big Packers and Brewers fan and worked over 40 years as a beer vendor at Milwaukee County Stadium. Don had a reputation as a sharp and competitive Sheepshead player (and never knew that his son-in-law would rig the cards so he would not receive a single trick as the picker). He also loved to dance and was affectionately called "the dancing fisherman!"
Donald is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Doug) Petrie and Donna (Paul) Roszak; and grandchildren Joseph and Lucas Roszak and Stephanie (Jon) Turner. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Donald is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his parents, Anthony and Ann Smetana; stepmother Jean and his brothers, Dennis and Tom Smetana.
