(nee Peil), 91, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the amazing age of 91. Dolores was born on April 14, 1923, in Slinger to Charles and Helena (nee Fehring) Peil.
Dolores started her adult life working in the office for the Stork Brewery and Amity Leather Products. She later went on to unite in marriage to Russell where they built a life together and raised their family in Slinger. In later years, Dolores took in some traveling, was an outstanding cook, gardener and an avid fan of the Rock River League. Dolores was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Parish and Christian Mothers Society. She belonged to the Cedar Lake Homemakers Chapter and later found joy in the company of her Domino's pals. Dolores was a friend to many, but above all, her family came first and her seven grandchildren were the light of her life.
Dolores was a loving mother and survived by her children: Mary (Dave) Meyer, Debbie (Brian) Laabs, Steven (Kathy) Schauer, and Kathy (Don) Bruni; she is loving grandma to: Jason (Vicki) Meyer, Joseph Laabs, Erika and Monica Schauer, Andy, Emily, and Alex Bruni; brother-in-law Howard Werner and brother-in-law William (Marlene) Schauer and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Dolores is preceded in death by her loving husband Russell, they are now back together in eternal peace. Also by her parents Charles and Helena Peil, in-laws Walter and Laura Schauer, brothers Charles (Frances) Peil, Ray (Florence) Peil, sister Dorothy (Jack) Zehloff, brother-in-law Robert Schauer, sister-in-law Dorothy Werner, nephew Ronald Peil, nieces Judy Voskull and Susie Schumacher.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dolores will be at 6:30 pm on Monday, October 13, 2014 at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Slinger with Father Richard J. Stoffel presiding. Visitation will be at the CHURCH ONLY on Monday, October 13 from 4:00 pm until time of mass (6:30pm).
