Obituary

Dianne Joan Wiedemann (nee Kriefall) of West Bend, passed away on Wed., April 24, 2024. Dianne was born on March 14, 1938 to Gilbert and Alvina (nee Gray) Kriefall. She married Joseph "Joe" Patrick on September 14, 1957 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls.

As a young girl, Dianne had a love of dancing. She shared her love of dance by being a dance instructor and touring the US with a dance team. It is through her passion for dance, one night at a local dancehall, with older brother chaperoning, she first met the love of her life, Joe. Together they danced through life, square dancing, ballroom dancing, and also later became part of a local Austrian and Russian dance troupe. They would marry and start their family. Soon after, they discovered a new passion together, camping. Every year the family would go on a new adventure, camping and exploring our beautiful country and Dianne would memorialize it through pictures. Dianne always had a camera close by! Once the children were grown, Dianne and Joe's adventures continued together. They would continue their travels and would go to square dance conventions all over the country and meet others who shared their love of square dancing. So many friendships were made along the way and those friendships have persevered for decades. Weaved throughout her life, was the importance and love of God, family and friends. Dianne was strong in her faith and love for God, always thinking of others, especially when others were hurting and in need. It was her kindness and thoughtfulness that many will remember, so many of us have been a recipient of her love and support when she would send a note and card, just to let you know you weren't alone and she was thinking of you.

Dianne is survived by her children Michael, John (Michelle), Susanne (Gary) Bartow. Further survived by grandchildren Cade Geldreich and Jeff Bartow, brother Robert (Marti) Kriefall, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe, her parents, brother, sister-in-law, nieces, other family and dear friends.

Dianne would ask all to celebrate her life, cherish the memories, and share your stories together with laughter and joy. She and her "Joe" are square dancing for eternity in heaven and they are smiling down at us, as they are joined together again.
