Obituary

Diana Mae Susen (nee Berger), of West Bend, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, April 7, 2014.

Diana was born in Milwaukee on April 15, 1949 to Werner "Mike" and Dolores "Dory" (nee Fritz) Berger and was raised in Fox Point and graduated in 1967 from Nicolet High School. She married Bob Susen on June, 27, 1970 and moved to the West Bend area to raise their family. Bob and Diana started Meadow Creek Elk Farms in 1996, where that became her passion and business which she enjoyed. Diana loved spending time at their Colorado mountain home with Bob and their family. Being outside along with hiking, hunting, 4-wheeling and looking for antlers in the mountains were a few of the many things she treasured. At their home in Wisconsin, her favorite time of year was spring and summer where she spent most of her time in her flower gardens. She had a great appreciation for history which included the restoration of their 1860's log home where they lived for the last 30 years. She had a great interest in antiques which are displayed in their home. Above all, her most special times were with her family. Some of her cherished memories were fishing with Brandon, weekend grill outs with her family, girl weekend getaways with her sisters and many Colorado road trips with Bob. Diana took great pride in her role as a past member of the Town of Farmington Planning Commission and was also an active past member at the Washington County Historical Society.

Diana is survived by her husband Bob, children Sheila (Jerry) Kruepke, Bobby (Christa) and Jenni (special friend Kevin). She is further survived by her grandchildren Brandon, Jalane and Lily, her parents Mike and Dory, brother Mike (Judy) Berger of Kewaskum, sisters Karen (Pat) Wellert of Peoria, AZ and Sue (Don) Curtis of Hudson, WI, mother-in-law Genevieve Johnson of Wyoming, MN, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by her father-in-law John Susen.

Private Service will be held at a later date.
