Obituary

Dennis W. Heider, age 77, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Aurora Medical Center Washington County.  He was born on July 14, 1946 in Menomonee Falls, WI to Delman and Delores (nee Beskow) Heider. He graduated from Custer High School in 1964.  On November 15, 1965 he was drafted into the Unites States Army. Was then sent to Vietnam February 1966.  Was wounded February 26, 1967, sent to Japan for surgeries and recovery.  He was then discharged on November 24, 1967.

Dennis married his love, Carol Winzentsen, on September 11, 1965.  Together they had 3 children, David, Derek and Danielle.  Dennis enjoyed working as a printer at St. Regis with his father until the plant was closed.  He then worked for Duni Corp, also printing, until retirement in February 2008.

Dennis' passion was his 4-legged companions, listening to the 60's and Motown music.  Also enjoyed washing/waxing his many cars over the years. Neighbors joked that he had the "cleanest car in the neighborhood". Dennis also watched every Packers, Brewers and the Bucks games.

Dennis and Carol traveled to Las Vegas several times (her passion) and many car shows (his passion). They rented a condo at Madeira Beach, FL each fall and enjoyed it immensely for its peacefulness and sunshine,

Outside of his car shows, his other favorites included going to his grandson's football, basketball, soccer and baseball games as well as his granddaughter's dance recitals and plays.

Dennis is survived by his wife Carol; children, Derek (Donette) and Danielle (Bryan) Jenders; daughter-in-law, Peggy (the late David); grandchildren, Dylan (Kaitlyn), Dean (Hannah), Mitchel, Michael and Mason Heider, Jarrett, Payton and Brooke Heider, Cade and Reed Jenders; brother, Timothy (Linda) Heider; siblings-in-law, Kathy Heider, William Winzentsen, Robert Sweetman, Gerri (Phil) Wetzel.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, son David, brother Ronald, siblings-in-law Patricia Winzentsen, Nancy Sweetman and Robert Winzentsen.

A Celebration of Dennis' Life will be at 5:00PM on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at St John's Lutheran Church (2881 Division Rd. Jackson, WI 53037) with Pastor Paul Mittermaier presiding.  Visitation will be at church on Thursday, November 2nd from 3:30PM until 4:45PM.  full Military Honors will follow the 5:00PM Service at 5:45PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Disabled Veterans ( www.dav.org ) and/or St. John's Lutheran church.

Dennis leaves behind many family members and friends who can all remember the good memories together.
