Obituary

Dennis Michael Gilboy

Age 86, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024, in his favorite chair, covered in his favorite blanket, and surrounded by family in his home at Grace Commons. He was born on January 20, 1938 in Milwaukee, WI to Robert and Kathleen Gilboy. Dennis was a devoted father and grandfather who loved attending his grandchildren's numerous athletic events. He was an avid sports fan and could always be found watching the Brewers, Packers, or Badgers. He enjoyed playing and watching golf, most recently the Masters. He also was able to attend the US Open at Erin Hills, and the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits with his sons. He enjoyed his "adventures with Denny" with his daughters which included going to breakfast at his favorite cafe, venturing to Chicago by train, and visiting the Bourbon trail in Kentucky last year. Dennis was a graduate of Marquette High School ('56) and UWM ('62) with a degree in Liberal Arts/Geology. He had a successful career at Harley Davidson in Product Liability for over 20 years before he retired.

Dennis is survived by his children Robert (Kelly), Kevin (Dana), Shannon (Brannon), Kathleen (Doug); beloved grandchildren, Mckenna, Danielle, Julia, Brittney, Connor, Kasey, and Ella; special furry-friends Charlie, Harley, Bart, and Hazel. He is further survived by his brother Brian (Barb) Gilboy. Also survived by his sister-in-law Jean (Scott) Riewer, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend Mary Lee Muntner.

Dennis is preceded in death by his wonderful wife of 56 years, Janet, brother Robert Gilboy, sister Patty Herbert and his parents Robert and Kathleen Gilboy.
