Delores was born in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin on July 31, 1923 to Dora (Esser) and Joseph F. Schmidt. On April 17, 1941, Delores married the love of her life, Theodore (Ted) Bernarde and together they were loving parents to eight children: Sandra (William) Gierach of Germantown, Judith (Eugene) Clark of Pulaski, Richard (Anna) of Crystal River, Florida, Charles (Mardell) of Slinger, James (Sandra) of Phoenix, AZ, the late Michael, Susan (the late Lee) Lederhause of West Bend and Dorthy (Dale) Dahlen of West Bend. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her brother Daniel (Helen) Schmidt, sister Joan (the late Ron) Rundle , sister-in-law Louise (Ted) Konopka and many cherished relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters and her brothers and sisters-in-law. Delores was a devout Catholic and led a life of example to her children. She was confident that God has prepared a place for her, and her only request was that her ashes "be with Dad".
To honor that request, her family is planning a funeral memorial service for our beloved Mother when the winter snows have gone, and the hope of spring returns.
