Obituary
David V. Sarauer ("Dave"), aged 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Mercyhealth Hospital in Janesville, WI.
David was born on Sept. 21, 1944 to the late Vernon A. and Esther M. (nee Dewitz) in Fond du Lac, WI. He graduated from Horicon High School in 1962 and moved to West Bend where he met his wife, Mary A. Ernst. They were married on Nov. 21, 1964 and recently celebrated their 60 th wedding anniversary. Dave was employed at Weasler Engineering until his retirement.
Dave loved working outside in the yard and was an avid horseshoe player. He enjoyed watching the History Channel as well as all the Wisconsin sports teams (Badgers, Brewers and Packers). He was very handy around the house, completing many of his own projects as well as helping his kids with their own projects. He also enjoyed being entertained by his dog, Molly.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, their four children Kim (Ted) Meils of West Bend, Julie (Mark) Platter of Oconomowoc, Scott (Lynn) of Janesville and Joel (Jamie) of Jackson. He is further survived by his seven grandchildren, Jackson, Nicholas, Nathan, Joshua, Samuel, Elizabeth and Maxwell and his canine companion, Molly.
He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Sonnentag, JoAnn (Donald) Norton, 6 brothers Roger (Linda), Glenn (Carol), Gary (Karen) Sarauer, Vernon, Jr., Richard (Lisa) and Frank (Rose). Sister-in-law Darlene Sarauer, brother-in-law Gary (Darlene) Ernst and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joseph, Robert and Arlyn, sister Elizabeth, sister-in-laws Pam and Kay Sarauer and nephews Chad and Michael.
