David "Dave" James McFarland of West Bend Wisconsin passed Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the age of 75, at Froedtert West Bend Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Dave was born on February 29,1948 in Port Washington he is the son of the late James and Mildred (nee Hartwig)(McFarland) Ulik. He was raised in Newburg/West Bend area and graduated from West Bend High School. Dave married the love of his life Lynn (nee Lewer) McFarland on August 9
th
, 1969, at St John's Lutheran Church in Newburg. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran, earning the rank BT3 aboard USS Duluth LPD, and served 6 years. Dave worked at FW Busch and Custom Tank for 36 years. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and was a past member of the Newburg Sportsman Club. He looked forward to visiting casinos and playing the lottery each week, most of all Dave loved spending time with his family.
Dave is survived by his wife Lynn of 54 years; children Shawn (Jacqueline) McFarland, Bryan (Karri) McFarland, Kelli (Jeremy) Genz; grandchildren, Allyssa (Bryan Mathewson), Jordyn (Jacob) Bergdorf, Douglas (Gabrielle), Shelby Daley, Zak Hope, Kaitlin and Alexis; great-grandchildren Josilyn, Nicholas, Carter, Minyah, Jaxson, Braxton and Bryson. He is further survived by his brother Dennis (Diane) McFarland of Bonners Ferry Idaho, sisters Judith (Ray Mueller) McFarland and Pam (Paul) Czerwinski, and brother in-law James Guttmann Sr, sister in-law Jean (Richard) Nero, Lori Putnins and brother in-law David (Patty) Lewer and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Debra Guttmann, step father Donald Ulik, and parent's in-law James and Shirley Lewer and brother in-law Daniel Lewer
