Obituary
Daniel Francis O'Toole passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2024, after a long illness at the age of 82.
Danny was born on January 17, 1941, in Boston, MA to Thomas and Dorothy O'Toole. Growing up, Danny enjoyed music. He had a strong connection to his family and developed a drive to serve. As a young man, Danny served his country in the United States Marines and later in the United States Coast Guard both active and as a reservist. His military service took him throughout the world. His last deployment was in 1990-91 in the Desert Shield/Desert Storm War.
Danny's service continued to his community as a police officer in Menomonee Falls, WI for 33 years and also as a Washington County, WI, Sheriff's Deputy. He taught a Riders' Edge Motorcycle Safety Course. Danny was lighthearted and was known to tell great Irish stories to his friends or anyone he met. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and would take trips exploring the United States. Danny was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, the Emerald Society of Wisconsin, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Marine Corps League.
Danny is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis, of forty years. Their special love and friendship will be deeply missed. He is also survived by his sons, Shawn (Debora), and Tim (Melissa) and his stepchildren, John (Connie) and Kathy (Bob). He is also survived by his grandchildren Liam, Shawn, Kathryn, Conor, Marina, Seamus, Alyssa, T.J., and Andrew. Danny is further survived by his brother, Bob (Dottie) and sister, Shannon as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Danny is predeceased by his parents, Tom and Dorothy and his brother Thomas.
Danny's family will host a visitation on Sunday, May 12, 2024, from 12:00PM until 2:45PM, with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00PM at Phillip Funeral Home,1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend, WI. Interment will be on Monday, May 13, at 1:00PM, at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI.
