Daniel Drew Ley, age 57, found peace being born into eternal life on Sunday, April 13th, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 7th, 1956 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, the son of Warren and Kathy Ley. He was the third of four brothers raised in Jefferson, Wisconsin.
Daniel graduated from Illinois Central College with a degree in Marketing in 1978. He started in the home appliance industry in factory service, and transitioned to a successful sales career in that field. He was a very proud business owner for many years.
He was passionate about playing golf, and loved riding his Harley and his snowmobile. He was also an avid sportsman, fisherman, and hunter.
He is survived by his two children, Paul (Kira) Ley and Stephanie Ley (Roi Evans), his grandsons, Nicholas and Ryan, the mother of his children, Pearl Hammen, his mother, Kathy Ley of Homosassa, Florida, brothers Steven of Homosassa, Florida, Douglas (Donna) of Janesville, and Timothy (JoAnn) of Waukesha, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, Warren Ley, and his beloved Golden Retriever, Casey.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive). The Memorial Service will follow at the funeral home at 4:00 PM with Pastor James Booker presiding. Feel free to honor Dan's memory by dressing in golf attire.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the newly established Daniel D. Ley Memorial Golf Scholarship Fund.
