Obituary

Carolyn A. Retzlaff (nee Lepien), age 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 15, 2015. She was born on September 14, 1946 in Hartford to Roland and Lorraine (nee Neu) Lepien. She attended Hartford High School class of 1964. She married Elmer Retzlaff August 6, 1966 at Peace Lutheran in Hartford. Carolyn loved gardening, flowers, bird watching, and caring for the farm animals. She also enjoyed baking and caring for her grandchildren. She was employed for many years at Hartford County Market. She was active at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church being part of the ladies aide and choir.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Elmer; children Debra (Christopher) Henrich, Paul Retzlaff; grandchildren Nicholas, Ashley, Michael, Devin, Britany, Austin, Dilin, Jimie; siblings Larry (Evelyn) Lepien, Michael (Laurleyn) Lepien; siblings-in-law Lois (Richard) Bublitz, Delores Hahn, Phyllis (Larry) Lambrecht, Arthur (Sally) Retzlaff, Joyce (Mark) Bohn. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and neighbors.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service for Carolyn will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (6430 Hwy D, Allenton, WI) on Friday April 17, 2015 at 12:00pm. A visitation will be at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service with Pastor Steven Bode presiding. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.
