Carole R. Kavanaugh (nee Rathkamp), age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Kathy Hospice of West Bend. She was born on February 26, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI to Frederick and Florence (nee Walker) Rathkamp.

Carole's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an outstanding role model to all of us, showing unconditional love and guidance each and every day.

Carole is survived by her children Susan W. Rieke (Ellis) and Fritz Schellgell (Susan), grandchildren Anne W. Rieke, Fritz Schellgell (Becky), Christopher Edwards (Erin), Jason Edwards (Olivia), Jennifer Edwards (Nicholas), and great-granddaughter Emma J. Schellgell. She is further survived by her extended family of friends and relatives. Carole is preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30PM on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr, West Bend, WI 53095). Visitation will be from 11:30AM until the time of the service.
