Obituary
Carol Ann Paplham (Ihlenfeldt), age 78 of Germantown, Wisconsin unexpectedly passed away Monday, May 20, 2024, at Menomonee Falls Hospital at the age of 78.
Carol was born March 28, 1946, to Matilda (Mueller) and Merlin Ihlenfeldt in Fond du Lac, WI. She grew up in Kewaunee and graduated from Kewaunee High School. Carol was united in marriage to William "Bill" Paplham on January 13, 1966, in Idaho Falls. She was a licensed nurse in the state of Wyoming until they moved back to Wisconsin. In Wisconsin she opened a care based residential facility, Granville Home. She cared deeply about her elderly patients.
Together, Carol and Bill were members of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls since its start.
Carol enjoyed golfing, spending time with friends and cooking. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren in theatre and dance and whopping Lydia and Braden in UNO and Yahtzee. She was always exploring the world of new gadgets and she loved her dogs.
Carol is survived by her husband, Bill of 58 years; son, Robert (Jody) Paplham and grandchildren, Braden, and Lydia. She is further survived by her brother, Roger (Jane) Ihlenfeldt. She is further survived by Louise (Schneider) Paplham, Barb (Paplham) Klingbile, Lawrance (Bonnie) Paplham, Chuck (Kathy) Paplham, Jonathan (Barb) Paplham. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Merlin, and Mathilda (Mueller) Ihlenfeldt and one brother, Robert Ihlenfeldt, Bob Paplham, and Bill Klingbile.
A visitation will be held Sunday, May 26, from 1:00 PM until 2:45PM with the Memorial Service at 3:00PM, at Phillips Funeral Home, 1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carols name to the Church would be appreciated. Bill and his family will have a reception from 3:30PM – 6:00PM and the Hartford Conservation and Gun Club, 6000 WI-60 Trunk, Hartford, WI 53027
