Carol H. Kurtz (nee Marx), 79 of West Bend, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015. She was born on December 5, 1935 to Richard and Lena (nee Lentz) Marx in Beaver Dam.
Carol graduated from Horicon High School, class of 1954. Carol married the late Harold Kurtz on July 10, 1954 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Horicon and later moved to West Bend where she was employed as a Resource Aide for the library at West Bend West High School. She loved music, singing, playing her piano, organ, and also Carol and her husband enjoyed going camping. She was a very active member of Pilgrim Ev. Lutheran Church and the past choir director and alter guild member.
Carol is survived by her children Steven, Thomas and Janet (James) Schellinger, grandchildren Daniel, Steven, Zach, Josh, Leah, William, Thomas, Chad, step-grandchildren Crystal and Jonathan, 22 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister Beatrice (Duane) Krueger, sister-in-law Dorothy Kurtz, brother-in-law Robert Kurtz, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, infant son Daniel, brothers Reuben, Orville, Earl, Byron, Lester, Richard and Robert, sisters Florence, Edna, Marion and Betty, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Leora (Fred) Drews, Richard Kurtz and Darlene Kurtz.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Pilgrim Ev. Lutheran Church (462 Meadowbrook Dr., West Bend) with Rev. Christopher Raffa presiding. Interment will take place at Washington Co. Memorial Park of West Bend. Visitation will be at the CHURCH ONLY on Monday, March 2 from 10:00 am until time of service (12:00 pm).
