Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Brian S. Yourich, born to Eternal Life on October 19th, 2026 at the age of 70.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Cheerie (nee: Hastings) Yourich, his brother, Jeffrey Yourich, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frederick and Dorothy (nee Sievers) Slatter.
He is survived by a family who will forever cherish his memory along with countless friends whose lives were made richer by knowing him. He was a devoted husband to Sue (nee Slatter), a loving father to Christine (Dennis) Burkee, Daniel Yourich, and Michelle (Brandon) Nelson. He was a proud grandfather to Maks, Korbin, Kinsley, and Baker. He is further survived by other loving family members, including his sister-in-law Sandy (Don) Kriefall and brother-in-law David (Sandy) Slatter and his nieces and nephews, Valerie (Chad) Sciame, Daryl (Mindy) Kriefall, Sharon (Dusty) Gander, Douglas Slatter, Russell Drew, and Holly (Roberto) Salazar and their respective families.

Brian loved going to his property up north in Adams where he enjoyed the outdoors. He adored fishing with his children and grandchildren, making smores over the grill, and driving around the back roads looking at wildlife. A vintage car enthusiast, he owned over 100 cars and 50 motorcycles in his lifetime, and in recent years he restored a 1955 Chevy, 1968 Plymouth, and1969 Plymouth with his son, Dan, and his friend, Kevin. He enjoyed watching westerns and police shows, taking several trips to visit Tombstone and Deadwood.

Brian was proud to be a retired Milwaukee Police officer. For 31 years, he protected his community in various roles, most notably in the tactical squad, the motorcycle unit, and retiring as a Sergeant in 2011. He was also an Army veteran, serving our country for 7 years.

Brian was a dear and loyal friend to many. He will be remembered for his kindness, his strength, his sense of humor, and the love he so generously shared with those around him. His presence brought comfort and happiness to the lives of many, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 28th, 2026 at PHILLIP FUNERAL HOME (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI ) from 10am until time of service at 12pm.
