Beverly "Bev" H. Winninghoff (nee Bruggink), age 86, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum. She was born on August 23, 1939, to Harold and Amelia "Amy" (nee Schruers) Bruggink. Along with her eight brothers and sisters, Bev grew up on the family farm in Adell and among her many cherished childhood memories was one infamous occurrence that included a BB gun and her youngest brother.
Bev was united in marriage to Gerald "Butch" Winninghoff on May 9th, 1970. As their daughters grew, she became their biggest fan in whatever they pursued, and she was often seen helping out as a base coach for softball, cheering them on the sidelines for volleyball and basketball, attending school music concerts, watching them in parades over the summer for band and batons, or enjoying school trips to Myrtle Beach SC and Washington DC, among other places. Her pride and joy were her six granddaughters, and she often spoiled them outings for ice cream. Grandma was always the number one fan at their sporting events and activities.
Bev was a 44-year employee of St. Joseph's Community Hospital where she worked as a Medical Transcriptionist. She made many lifelong friends at the hospital and had the privilege of working for many years alongside her best friend, Shirley Laufer. She also volunteered for many years at the Kewaskum Food Pantry.
Bev fought Parkinson's disease for 10 years. Through the struggle, pain, loss of balance and independence she did not give up. There were moments when she got discouraged but she never faltered, she always put a smile on her face and sass in her pants. She brought joy, humor and laughter to those around her. Bev was known for her sassiness at KMG, and all enjoyed the one liners she threw at the loving, caring staff who helped her daily.
Bev was a huge fan of all Wisconsin Badgers sports and had been known to watch Green Bay Packers games with the volume on the TV off and the radio sportscast turned up. She had quite a sweet tooth and was famous for her many homemade desserts.
Bev is survived by her daughters, Leeann (Tim) Butschlick, Robyn (Todd) Erickson and Marnie Winninghoff; grandchildren Sarah, Jenna, and Mara Butschlick and Cheyenne, Sierra, and Dakota Erickson; siblings Roland "Rollie" Bruggink, Harold "Butch" Bruggink, Jr. and Lola (Ken) Lindow; siblings-in-law Don (Carol) Winninghoff and Ruth Bruggink. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Butch, an infant daughter Mary, sister Doris (Ralph) DeMaster, and brothers Eugene (Leona) Bruggink, Richard (Eileen)(Vera) Bruggink, Allen Bruggink, and Wayne (Carol) Bruggink.
