Obituary

Beverly (Bev) A. (Schwartz) Walter was welcomed into the arms of the Lord at New Perspectives on May 5, 2026, surrounded by family at the age of 86.

Beverly was born on March 4, 1940, to William and Esther (nee Erickson) Schwartz in Milwaukee, WI. She was raised on a vegetable farm in Slinger where she developed a love for animals and gardening. At the young age of 14 she met the love of her life Robert “Bob” Walter, marrying October 10, 1959 at 19 years old. They started their family and moved to the Allenton area.

Bev loved her family, animals, singing/music, gardening and traveling. Bev had a giving heart being a caregiver to family and friends. Bev and Bob traveled all over the United States with a 2-month RV trip to Alaska being her favorite. Bev wrote songs and sang them for her family and friends. She even had a song copy written and set to music.

Leaving behind a legacy of love, music, and unwavering warmth. She was the bright, steady light of our family-someone whose presence made every room softer, kinder, and more full of life.

More than anything, Bev loved her family. She found her greatest happiness in being surrounded by the people she cherished-listening, laughing, holding hands, and offering the kind of love that made each of us feel seen and treasured. Her gentle spirit, her kindness, and her deep devotion to those she loved will remain with us always.

She leaves behind a family who adored her, who will miss her voice, her laughter, and her steady presence, but who will carry her light forward in the way she taught us to love.

We are grateful for every moment we had with her and take comfort in knowing her song continues—echoing in our memories, our stories, and our hearts.

Bev is survived by Bob her loving husband, her beloved children Jeff (Deb) and Wendy (Tom) Wilson. Grandchildren Tiffany Huebner (Norman) Muller, Jaime (Josiah) Baker and Jeremy (Molly) Walter. Great-grandchildren Caroline, Zachary and Hannah Baker. Her faithful companion Cookie. Special friends Cindy and Roger Krause, and other relatives and friends.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Ethel Ries, nieces Debby Ries. Sherry Olsen, brothers-in-law Chuck Ries, Norman and Arnold Walter, and sisters-in-law Dona and Judy Walter.

Special thank you to New Perspective, special caregiver Jake and all her caregivers. Horizon Hospice and Katie, Jennifer, Jessie and the rest of her team.

A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 1:00pm the Phillip Funeral Home (1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095). Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday May 23rd from 11:00am until 12:45pm. Interment will be on a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Allenton.
