Obituary
Bernice Katherine Kohl (nee Wiedmeyer), age 96, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, at The Kathy Hospice in West Bend. She was born on November 27, 1928, in Richfield, WI to John and Julia (nee Barbain) Wiedmeyer. Bernice was a 1948 graduate of Slinger High School. She married her love, Eugene G. Kohl on September 29, 1962, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Richfield. After marriage the couple lived in Slinger. Bernice and Gene owned and operated for over 25 years Slinger Lanes with her brother-in-law Albert Kohl. Later she was the Crossing Guard for the Slinger School District for 16 years. Bernice enjoyed their leisure time up in Eagle River fishing. She loved to golf, bowling, and building puzzles and was an avid Brewer fan!
Bernice is survived by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Bernice is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alvin Wiedmeyer and Ralph (Dianne) Wiedmeyer, sister, Theresa (Earl) Hammen; brother-in-law, Al Kohl and sister-in-law, Laura Oswald.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am on Monday, November 17, 2025, at St. Peter Catholic Church (200 East Washington St. Slinger, WI 53086) with Fr. Richard Stoffel presiding. Visitation will be at church on Monday, November 17 th from 9:00am until 10:45am. Burial will follow mass at the New St. Peter Cemetery in Slinger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the St. Peter Building Fund (208 E. Washington St. Slinger, WI 53086).
