Obituary

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Beatrice Rose Herman (née Kircher) of West Bend, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully, at the age of 86, on Monday, March 30, 2026, at The Pavilion of Glacier Valley in Slinger, WI.

Beatrice was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 6,1939 to Lawrence and Margaret (née Adams) Kircher. On May 2, 1959, she married her best friend and love of her life, Eugene (Gene) J. Herman, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee, WI. Together, they shared 66 years of marriage.

Bea worked and retired from J.C. Penney Distribution Center after 30 years, where she worked in Management in the business office in the cash cage assuring all cash was managed properly. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends (many are lifelong). She bowled at Bowlero in a women’s and couples league, gathered for card club monthly, loved fishing, went to “Work” at the casino as she would tell everyone, and traveled with family and friends. They traveled to different campgrounds on the weekends until they settled in as members at Camp Delton Club in Wisconsin Dells where they have enjoyed their weekends and vacations for 48 years. Once they retired, they spent their winters as snowbirds in Florida, later purchasing a home in Davenport, FL. She enjoyed working part-time at MGM Studios at Walt Disney World and would then spend their summers at Camp Delton Club in Wisconsin Dells. While they were in Florida they took many cruises to the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Hawaii, and Alaska. They also took advantage of enjoying the Walt Disney World Parks as much as they could along with the other activities on Disney Properties. They would travel around the area to different beaches, casino boats, and other area attractions. They would winter there for 10 years until their first grandchild (Makayla) was born and decided to move back home. When they came back to Wisconsin, they moved into Rivershores Regency in West bend in 2007. She enjoyed her new friendships, playing cards (especially Sheepshead), bingo, and social gatherings.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Eugene (Gene) Herman, her children, Linda (Royce) Platta, Patricia (Scott) Korn, and Sandra (Donald) Cibulka; her grandchildren, Makayla and Trenton Cibulka, Step Grandchildren Michelle Korn (Lily Rowe) and Michael (Stephanie) Korn; and her Step Great‑Grand children, Lily Rowe, Chase and Joshua (JJ) Korn, her sisters‑in‑laws, Elaine Kircher, Shirley (Beau) Wedemeyer, and Lynn Herman, along with many nieces and nephews.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence & Margaret Kircher, In-laws Henry & Rosella Herman, Siblings: Daniel (Julie) Kircher, Margaret (Leslie) Leemon and Jerome Kircher, Brother-in-Law Gerald Herman, as well as Tommy & Steve Kircher, and Renee Kircher.

Celebration of life will take place at Holy Angels Catholic Church on Saturday, May 2, 2026, 138 North 8th Avenue, West Bend, Wisconsin, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment to be held at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, Wisconsin at a later date.

Special thanks to all the care givers who took care of her at The Pavilion at Glacier Valley, Slinger Wisconsin and her Care Management Team.
