August P. Fechter age 79 years, of West Bend, passed away Sunday January 14, 2018 at Cedar Community. He was born on March 17, 1938 in West Bend to August P. and Helen (nee Hentges) Fechter. On October 27, 1962, August married Sylvia Dohrwardt. Together they farmed and raised their family. Augie enjoyed playing cards, watching the Brewers and Packers, but especially loved giving the grandkids tractor rides.

August is survived by his children; Dale, Sally (Barry Kopeschka) Lewin, Brenda Kempf, and Kenneth; grandchildren, Jacob and Jessica Lewin, Matthew and Mason Kempf, sister Clara Neu, his twin sister Dorothy (Jim) Griesmer, his brother Richard (Martha) Fechte, sisters in law; Arlene Fechter, MaryJane Fechter, Irene Fechter brothers in law Frank (Barb) Dohrwardt, Willard Dohrwardt and Ed (Joan) Hetebrueg, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. August was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sylvia, siblings; Barbara Fechter, Ray Fechter, Leo Fechter, Ralph Fechter, Martha Meyer, and in laws George Meyer, Elvira (nee Hetebrueg) and LeRoy Neu.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Saturday January 20th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (521 Congress St. Newburg) with Fr. Kevin Kowalske presiding. Visitation will be held Friday at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel from 4:00pm until 7:00 pm with a Prayer Vigil to follow. Interment will be at St. Augustine Cemetery after the mass.
