Arthur Peter Hoberg, 91, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013. He was born on September 1, 1921 in Sheboygan, WI to Ingomar and Minnie (Bayens) Hoberg. Arthur graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1939 and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1947 with an accounting degree and he was also a CPA. From 1942 to 1946, he served in the US Army's 1913 Engineer Aviation Battalion in New Guinea, Philippines, and Japan, earning the rank of First Lieutenant.
Arthur started at Amity Leather Products in 1948 as an accountant and retired as Senior Vice President-Finance in October 1992. He was a member of the board of Amity Leather Products and West Bend Mutual Insurance Company. He was actively involved in the community including the Volunteer Center of Washington County (Director and Treasurer), the Washington County Campus Foundation (Director and Secretary/Treasurer), the Moraine Symphony (Director and Secretary), and the West Bend Jaycees (Director and President).
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Hoberg, three children, Peggy Hoberg of Chicago, IL, Kathryn (Douglas) Johnson of Wilmette, IL, and Michael (Theresa) Hoberg of San Carlos, CA, and two grandsons, Paul Hoberg and Andrew Johnson.
The visitation will be at Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend (1420 W Paradise Drive) on Tuesday, June 25th from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM followed by a private family service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Partners In Caring (113 Cedar Ridge Drive, West Bend, WI 53095).
