Obituary
Arlene E Horton (nee Surprise), age 99, passed away peacefully at the Waterford of West Bend with her family nearby. Born 6/21/24, she lived in West Allis, WI where she met the love of her life. She married James F Horton on August 20, 1942 and celebrated 73 years together. Together they raised their family in New Berlin, WI.
Throughout her life, Arlene's hobbies included sewing, reading, needlepoint, camping, cooking and baking COOKIES(!), but most important to her was her family. She enjoyed organizing parties for every occasion to keep the family close. Her love and caring are the memories her family will keep in their hearts. Among her last words she said: "I want you to know – I care, I care".
Arlene is survived by her children Lon Horton (Louise), Debbie McClellan (Bruce – dec.), and Cindy Plautz (Steven); seven grand children; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband; her parents Wilton and Ella Surprise; her sister Evelyn Feriozzi; and her twin brother Wilton Surprise Jr.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made to the Glaucoma Foundation (www.glaucomafoundation.org) or Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Research Foundation (www.accrf.org).
