Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Peters, age 68, passed away with loved ones at his side Thursday afternoon, November 12, 2015. He was born in West Bend on December 14, 1946 to Alphonse and Erna (nee Weber). Anthony married his loving wife of 46 years Judith Ann (nee Wenninger) Peters and raised six children together. A man of great faith, Tony was a member of Holy Angels since 1969; spending the majority of his life in the service of others; Tony took to the roads late at night into the early morning, plowing snow for over 40 years; a task he enjoyed immensely. A craftsman at heart and a man of many trades, he began work on his parent's farm at a young age and continued farming for a local business in 1964. In 1975 he carried on the farming theme by fixing the very machines of the trade. His love of working with his hands led to successful careers for the Town of Trenton for 10 years, and Cooleys for 2 years, as well as excavating at HJ Wolf for 23 years. Always active, even in retirement, Tony delivered cars for Russ Darrow dealerships.

One thing Anthony will be remembered for is his love of children. An intimidating man in stature, but with a soft heart, he always found a way to gain their trust with candy and gifts. He would share his love and talent of woodworking and building by making furniture and play barns. Even with his large build and scary beard, he always found a way to make children laugh. He was the first to arrive to every family gathering, and often the last to leave. He was a good listener and seemed most content when surrounded by those he loved.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife Judy; two sons Jim (Tracy) Peters and Chris (special friend Amanda Juech) Peters, as well as his caring daughter Jackie (Steve) Becker; his grandchildren Nick, Justin, Zack, Katie Peters, Beau, Brady, Jeremiah, Jacob, Jared, Stephanie Becker; his siblings Sister Joan Marie Peters, Kathy (Al) Maday, Mary Ellen (Ray) Mathieu, Gene (Diane) Peters and Mark (Lynn) Peters; in-laws Donny (Shari) Wenninger, Bill (Anne) Wenninger, Mary (Paul) Mamerow, Sue Radtke, Jayne (Randy) Stiener. Tony is preceded in death by his parents Alphonse and Erna Peters his Children Stephen, Jeffery and Sarah, his parents-in-law Jacob and Genevieve Wenninger and brother-in-law Bruce Radtke.

The world lost a beloved husband, father, brother, friend on Thursday, who gave so much. His three surviving children, 10 grandchildren, friends, family and all whose lives he touched, will carry on the courage, compassion and love that he had every day of his life. He will be dearly missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
