Obituary
Anne Elizabeth Gurlusky passed away peacefully Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born in Milwaukee, WI, on January 6, 1939, to the late Adolph and Loraine Hoffman.
Anne graduated from Mercy High School, Milwaukee, WI in 1957. Anne was a proud graduate of Marquette University in 1961, with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. While Anne attended Marquette, she was a member of the Delta Sigma Gamma Sorority, as well as the Elementary Education Club. Anne went on to teach elementary school students until she retired in June of 2001 after teaching 2 nd grade at St. Huberts, Hubertus, WI for over 25 years. To this day, we still cross paths of Anne's former students who recall her fondly! Her sons, Joe and Andy, were lucky to have her as their second-grade teacher.
After college, a few of Anne's many hobbies included skiing (snow and water), sailing on Pewaukee Lake with her friends, as well as playing tennis.
Anne was an avid reader, a hobby she was passionate about. She was in several book clubs and was a regular at the local libraries. She would celebrate all milestones for her grandchildren with a book and always included a special message in the cover for them.
The most important thing to Anne was her family. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She gave her unconditional love to her children and grandchildren every day of their lives.
Anne is survived by her loving children: Becky Braunschweig (Brad), Joe Gurlusky (Nicole) and Andy Gurlusky. She is survived by her precious grandchildren: Zach Braunschweig, Mitch Gurlusky, Sam Braunschweig, Maddie Gurlusky, Owen Gurlusky and Isabel Gurlusky. Anne is further survived by her brother, Henry Hoffman; as well as former husband Paul Gurlusky.
She was preceded in death by her parents Adolph and Loraine Hoffman.
Visitation will be held at Phillip Funeral Home, (1420 West Paradise Drive, West Bend WI) Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 10am – 11:45am with a 12:00 pm funeral service. Committal service for immediate family members to be held at St. Hubert's Cemetery, Hubertus, WI at 1:30pm.
A special thank you to the caring staff at Serenity Villa, Slinger, WI. The Serenity staff treated Anne with so much love and respect. Our family is forever grateful. A further thank you to Lily Hospice for their care for Anne in her final hours.
