With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our son, Andy at the age of 41 due to heart failure.

Andy was born October 18, 1984 in West Bend to Chuck & Rita Kandel. He graduated from West Bend East High School in 2003. In 2006 he was diagnosed with Non-Hodkin’s Lymphoma. Throughout his illness he was very upbeat and faithfully exercised each day. His ordeal was wrote up in the local Froedtert magazine how he overcame and excelled throughout chemo and radiation. He continued his exercise routine and became a national champion in arm wrestling.

His biggest joy was his son Alex and they loved spending time at his parents house in the country. Looking for frogs and turtles in the pond and fishing provided many hours of joy. He was an avid fan of Japanese Culture and their animations, and had aspirations to someday go there. He enjoyed traveling with family to Disney World, Hawaii, as well as hunting trips to Missouri, Minnesota and Maui with his dad.

Andy is survived by his parents Chuck and Rita Kandel and his son Alex. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and many cousins.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Charles & Rose Johnson and Walter & Dorothy Kandel.
Visitation will be Thursday July 9th at Phillip Funeral Home in West Bend at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral service at 11:00 am by Deacon Mark Jansen.
