Obituary

Alice F. Rivard (nee Dick), 91, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at her residence, Elizabeth Residence Assisted Living Facility, in New Berlin, WI while under the care of Harmony Care Hospice and the Elizabeth Residence team.

Alice was born on February 12, 1933 to Jacob and Marion (Fischer) Dick in Marshfield, WI. Alice was the 2 nd of 17 children born to Jacob and Marion.  Alice married Edward F. Rivard on April 14, 1959 at St. John's the Baptist Church in Marshfield, WI.

She has been a very devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.  Alice excelled as a homemaker and nurturing caregiver. Being the first daughter of 17, she became a "mother" early on developing an exceptional work ethic.  Alice sacrificed tirelessly for her family always with the servanthood manner of our precious Lord and emulating our Blessed Mother. Her faith was the foundation of every part of her daily life.  She prayed continuously for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren for them to come to know the Lord. Mom loved to cook, bake and make popcorn .  Working with her hands was a gift to her as she made ceramics, quilts and many sewing projects for others. She treasured bringing joy to every occasion with food and laughter.  "Alice from the palace" had a fun sense of humor that was contagious to those around her.  Mom would hope that you celebrate her life rather than mourn her passing.

Alice is survived by her beloved children: Edward (Donna) Rivard, Jim (Michelle) Rivard, and Rosanne (Tom) Nosacek. She is further survived by 18 cherished grandchildren: Jacob (Katie) Rivard, Luke and Eric (Catie) Rivard; Ben, Tyler, Nick (Therese) Rivard, Jamie Lynne, Michael, David, Joseph, John Paul, Augustine, and Regina Rivard; Evan, Eli (Celeste) Nosacek, Brea, Rebekah, and Isaac Nosacek and 2 treasured great grandchildren: Stevie Mae Rivard and Easton Thomas Nosacek.  Alice is survived by 9 of her siblings: sisters - Barbara (Mary Joy) Dick, Mary Budtke, Francis Brandl, Margaret Becker, Teresa Nelson, Virgeen King, and Kathryn (Kutch) Dick and brothers Jacob and Joseph.  She is also survived by many in-laws through marriage, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Marion Dick, her husband Edward F. Rivard, her daughter Jeanne Rivard, 6 brothers - Gerald, Bernard, John, Lawrence, Robert, Daniel, 1 sister - Lorraine; and 2 grandchildren - Simon and Samuel Nosacek.
