Obituary

Alan L. Murawsky 73 of Newburg passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Dec 5th, after a short stay at Columbia St Mary's Hospital in Ozaukee following a diagnosis of lung cancer the prior day. The family is shocked by his sudden departure, but grateful he did not suffer.

He was born on January 6, 1941 in Milwaukee WI to Herbert and Katherine (nee Stibbe) Murawsky. He graduated from Port Washington High School in 1959 after which he completed a 5 year steamfitter's apprenticeship. He was married to Ann Ballbach on August 18th, 1962 at immaculate Conception in Saukville . He retired from steamfitting at the age of 55 and had no problem keeping himself busy to the very end.

He enjoyed hunting with good friends in northern Wisconsin, fishing on Lake Michigan for Coho and the elusive bottle bass (though he caught his fair share) at his weekend home away from home; his Port Washington boat slip. He enjoyed traveling, kayaking, and nature. He worked tirelessly on his home and ten acres, constantly "Alan-izing" things in an unending quest to create things that were unique, funky, or just made life easier. His motto: I can fix it, the impossible just takes longer!

Alan possessed a soft side that he often downplayed. Those on the receiving end of his generosity were often surprised by how humble and consistent he was with his good deeds. Whether it be offering to fix something, or dropping off something thoughtful.

Al's greatest love was his wife and two daughters. He is survived by his wife Ann (nee Ballbach) Murawsky: daughters Debra (Scott) Strege of Watertown, WI and Suzanne (Adam) Goldberg of San Ramon, CA: sister Jean (nee Murawsky) Hunt of Decater, IL: niece Dawn (nee Hunt) Register, nephew Darren Hunt and six grand nieces and nephews: grandchildren Taylor, Brandon, Sarah and Eric.

A funeral service in remembrance of Alan will be held on Saturday, December 13th at 1 pm at Phillip Funeral home, 1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend. Visitation is available from 12-1pm in addition to coffee, cake, and fellowship following the service.

I asked God to send me a man who would love me and only me. Through 52 years of marriage, he did just that. "Tiger, you made it your personal mission to make whatever I was doing easier, faster, and more efficient. You have been the rock in my life and I will miss you, your multiple hats, and your sense of humor more than I can say." Ann
