Lillian E. Patenaude (nee Depner), age 99, of Brookfield, formerly of Slinger, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at her residence.  She was born on December 14, 1917 in Gillette, WI to the late Ferdinand and Mathilda (nee Block) Depner.  She married Melvin on October 28, 1939 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Oconto and later moved to Milwaukee.  After retirement, they moved to Arbor Vitae on the lake and then to Oconto Falls for a short time.  The couple moved again to Slinger and in 2008, they moved to Brookfield.  Lillian loved to garden, can and cook.  

She is survived by her children, Errol, Sandra Wellner, Dianne (Carl) Mattson and Michael (Lynne); grandchildren, Patty Powell, Suzanne (Dean) Polenz, Sarah (Joel) Schettler, Ellen (Larry) Brinkman, Jennifer (Michael) Kuhn, Melanie (fiancé Dan Turdo) Patenaude, Andrew Patenaude; great-grandchildren, Sophia Polenz, Jessica and Jared Brinkman, Ian, Ella and Levi Kuhn; other relatives and friends.

Lillian is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, Melvin; grandson Thomas; daughter-in-law LuAnne, siblings, Art, Margaret, Clarence, Rosie and Caroline.  

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 5:00 PM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend) with Fr. Richard Stoffel presiding.  The Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16th from 3:00 PM until the time of Mass at 5:00 PM.  Private interment will take place at Oconto Catholic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church Endowment Fund (208 E Washington St., Slinger, WI  53086).
