Eleanora “Ella” Youngbauer (nee Schnitzler) of Slinger passed away Wednesday October 22, 2008 at Autumn Oaks at the age of 100 years.
She was born on November 7, 1907 in Auburndale, WI to Benno and Barbara (Nee Schuh) Schnitzler. Ella was raised in Slinger since the age of two, graduating from St. Peter’s Catholic Grade School and Slinger High School class of 1925. During high school and for years after, she worked for General Telephone Company until she married George Youngbauer on October 3, 1936 and began her family. Ella loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed flowers and needlework.
Ella is survived by her children Grace (Franklin) Tennies of Town of Erin and James (wife Theresa Harrison) Youngbauer of Utah. She is further survived by grandchildren Gregory (Samantha) Tennies of Kekoske, Mary (James) Jackson of Ashippun, Kenneth Tennies of Jefferson, Daniel (Linda) Tennies of Town of Erin, Steven Tennies of Slinger, Chris (Joann) Youngbauer of Madison, and 10 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, granddaughter Lisa, great granddaughter Kaitlin, sisters in law and brothers in law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 6 pm Sunday October 26, 2008 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church 202 E. Washington St. Slinger with Fr. Richard J. Stoffel officiating. Interment will take place in Old St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday at the CHURCH ONLY from 4-6pm with the Legion of Mary leading a Rosary Service at 3:30 pm.
